Am I the only one who blew $45 on fancy metal dice and went right back to the cheap plastic ones?
Bought a set of those heavy metal dice at a shop in Portland 4 months ago. $45 for 7 pieces. Felt great in my hand at the store, all shiny and cold. Got them home and used them for one night of D&D. Problem is they dent my table and they're so heavy they knock minis over when I roll. My buddy's cat also nearly swallowed one. Went back to the $8 plastic set from the game store down the street. The metal ones sit in a little velvet bag in my closet now, doing nothing. I want to like them. I really do. But every time I roll them the whole table jumps. Anyone else buy premium dice and end up shelving them for everyday play?
Get a cheap felt dice tray off amazon, like $10, and it fixes the table dents and the minis thing. The heavy dice stay put in the tray instead of bouncing across the map. Mine live in the tray now instead of the closet.
