Blew $200 on a collector's edition of a game I already owned
I picked up the 10th anniversary big box of Dominion last month for $200, thinking it'd be this amazing upgrade. Turns out the new art style makes every card look like a Fisher-Price toy, and I still reach for my beat-up 2011 copy instead. Anyone else drop cash on a 'premium' version of a game and immediately regret it?

Sold my premium edition on craigslist for half what I paid, took that money and bought a few old expansions for the original game instead. Way happier with those than I ever was with the fancy box.

nguyen.angela honestly made the right call there. The premium editions always feel like a ripoff once the hype dies down. Old expansions for the original game actually have more replay value and real content. Sold my fancy collector's set a while back too and never looked back. The simpler stuff here usually ages way better.

Used to be all about the fancy boxes but reading this totally flipped my take on it.
