I always thought Betrayal at Baldur's Gate was a worse version of Betrayal at House on the Hill, but after 3 plays last weekend I actually like the legacy-style campaign rules more.
What clicked for me was how the Baldur's Gate version gives each player a visible quest goal on their character card that changes how you pick rooms early on, instead of just wandering around waiting for the haunt to start, has anyone else found one version works better for their group?

Hold up, wait, did you just say Baldur's Gate gives you actual goals from the start? I've been skipping that version because I thought it was just a lazy reskin, but now I'm honestly offended my House on the Hill group has been wandering around like confused ghosts for years while Baldur's Gate players are apparently speedrunning to their personal quests. I mean, maybe it's just my group, but we usually spend the first 20 minutes arguing about whether the dumbwaiter is worth exploring. Huh. Might actually have to give the gateway version a shot now, even if it means dealing with all those weird Baldur's Gate puns.

Wait, hold up - "confused ghosts" is literally the most accurate description of my group too lmao. I mean, the dumbwaiter debate is a sacred tradition at this point but now I'm actually wondering if we've been playing wrong this whole time.

Small fix - Baldur's Gate doesn't actually have legacy-style rules, it's just one-shot scenarios.
