Lost a 3 hour game of Twilight Imperium because my buddy flipped one objective card, do you replay it or let it stand
We were 20 minutes from me locking in the win last Saturday when he drew a 2 pointer nobody could stop, and now half our group says the game is broken and the other half says that is just how it goes, so where do you land on house ruling that kind of luck away?

My sister and I had the same fight over Monopoly when I was 13, house rules made the game last 5 hours and she flipped the board. Years later she told me the real issue was we never agreed on what "winning" meant before we started. Seems like the same thing here, your group needs to settle the luck question before the next game, not after somebody loses.
