My copy of Twilight Imperium lost a whole fleet of plastic ships

Last month during our big game night, my friend knocked over his drink and it soaked the box lid. The water got inside and warped the plastic tray that holds the miniatures. About 15 of the small fighter ships snapped off their pegs when I tried to take them out. I was pretty bummed because that game cost me over $150. I ended up carefully gluing each one back with a tiny bit of super glue, which took almost an hour. Has anyone found a better storage solution for games with lots of fragile pieces?

Man 15 ships is pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. I get being bummed out, but it's just plastic at the end of the day. You glued them back, so problem solved, right? @angelaw78 is right that it's a gut punch for a pricey game, but I think people get too worked up over this stuff. I've had way worse happen to my stuff over the years, like a whole box of tools getting rained on once. It stinks for a day but then you move on. Games are meant to be played, not kept in perfect mint condition forever.

Ouch, that's a total gut punch for such an expensive game!

Used to think that way too, @angelaw78, but this really changed my mind.

Just wait for a sale, it's not worth full price.
