My game group in Denver fell apart after one friend moved away last month
We had a solid crew of five that met every other Sunday for three years, but when Mark took a job in Seattle, the whole schedule just collapsed. The rest of us tried to keep it going with four, but the dynamic felt off without his energy for heavy strategy games. Has anyone else had a regular group break up and managed to start a new one?

Oh man, do I know that feeling. My old D&D group basically evaporated after our DM had a baby, which is a way better reason than someone moving, so I can't even be properly mad about it. We tried to keep it alive with someone else running a game, but it just wasn't the same without his weird voices for all the goblins. It's like the whole table's vibe was tied to one person. I felt so lost on Sunday afternoons for months.

Actually, losing that routine can be a good push to try new stuff! Maybe the group was too comfy and now you can find a different game or hobby. Sometimes a clean break is better than forcing it.

Honestly, I read that losing a group's "vibe" is super common when one key person leaves.
