My record board game night finally happened after 3 tries

Had 8 people show up on a Tuesday to play Root, first time my group actually finished a game without someone bailing early. Anyone else struggle with scheduling your heavier games? How do you keep people committed?

Managed to get 7 people to the table for Dune once and felt like I'd herded cats into a coordinated nap. Only took three reschedules, a bribe with snacks, and ignoring two text confirmations that fell through.
