Our game night died at 9:15 because one guy flipped a table over a rules call
Six of us were three hours into a heavy euro at my place in Dayton last Saturday when a fight about a rules interaction turned into an actual table flip. Someone knocked over the whole board, about 400 cardboard pieces and cubes went across the floor, and two of the guys stopped talking to each other. I spent Sunday sorting tiles by shape with a flashlight looking for a missing blue token. My fix: from now on there is a printed house rules sheet on the wall and a 2 minute timer for any argument. I also keep the reference book on the table with sticky tabs. Does anyone actually enforce a rule lawyer time limit, and how do you do it without killing the mood?
