Talked to a guy who plays with his grandma every Sunday and it hit me different

I was at my local shop last Saturday and got into it with this older guy looking at a used copy of Splendor. He told me he plays board games with his 83 year old grandma every single week, no exceptions. She apparently beat him at Wingspan 12 times in a row before she finally let him win one. Made me realize I've been way too focused on winning and not enough on just having a laugh with someone. Does anyone else find themselves getting too competitive with family or friends?

That's a good reminder that the best plays are the ones that make people smile.

My brother's one-act about a broken lawnmower had people crying from laughter, but it still flopped at the festival.

Right there with you @kim.nina. I remember running a simple improv game at a birthday party where we just passed around a silly hat and made up reasons why the person wearing it was the king or queen of something ridiculous. The kids were laughing so hard they could barely breathe. No fancy props or big stage needed, just people having fun together. Those are the moments that stick with you long after the show is over.
