The guy at my FLGS in Dayton told me my rulebook notes were hurting my teaching, and he was right
Got called out at open board game night last month at a shop in Dayton. He said I front load every teach with edge case rules before people even know how a turn works, and he was right. Now I run a bare bones 3 minute teach, basic goal plus turn flow only, then we just play an open round with hands face up. Cuts the teach from 20 minutes to about 7 and nobody has asked a rules question mid game since. How do you all split up rules vs just playing it out?
