The week three regulars all won the same board game tournament
Last month at the bar's game night, three guys who argue about Settlers of Catan every Tuesday somehow took first, second, and third place in the charity tournament, and now they won't stop asking me to name a beer after their team.

Was this a single elimination bracket or round robin format? Because if it was round robin, they basically had a built in advantage since they already know each other's tells and strategies from playing together every week. That'd be like bringing your own team to a solo tournament and calling it fair.

Yeah but you're missing the real kicker here - if they've been scrimming together for months, they've probably already swapped notes on how to counter every single player in the bracket. That's way dirtier than just knowing each other's tells, because now they've got a full playbook on everyone else.
