Vent: Bought a fancy organizer for Gloomhaven that was totally wrong

I saw a wooden insert online that claimed to fit the base game and all expansions. Spent about $65 on it. When it arrived, the pieces didn't fit the box at all, and the slots for the miniatures were way too small. Had to take it apart and just use the original plastic trays. Anyone know a good, tested storage solution that actually works?

Was it the one with the little drawers for the map tiles? I tried that one too. The problem is they measure the empty box, not the space left after the rulebooks and big boards go in. My friend had good luck with the folded space insert, the foam core one. It's flat packed so you build it to fit.

Lol that's exactly the one. My dumb self spent an hour trying to force it in there before realizing the rulebook mound was in the way. Felt like a real genius moment. Those little drawers are a cool idea but totally useless if they don't account for the actual stuff in the box. Your friend's foam core idea sounds way smarter, building it to fit around the game parts instead of fighting them. Might have to look into that instead of buying another pre-made brick.

Honestly the worst part is that triumphant feeling when you finally get it to close, only to realize you've crushed the rulebook into a new shape. It's like the insert designers have never actually played a board game before. Just give me some foam and a knife at this point.
