Wasted $60 on a board game insert that didn't even fit

I bought this fancy foam core insert for Terraforming Mars off Etsy last month. Ad said it was a perfect fit for the standard box. Got it in the mail, spent an hour assembling it, and it was about half an inch too tall. Lid wouldn't close all the way. Tried to get a refund and the seller ghosted me. Has anyone else had luck with a specific brand of game inserts that actually work?

Sorry you got burned like that. Hate when sellers don't stand behind their work.

Yeah "stand behind their work" sounds nice until they disappear the second something goes wrong. I've been there too many times. What works for me now is asking for a payment schedule tied to milestones, not just a flat upfront fee. Keeps them honest when they know the final check is waiting. Last time I didn't push for that, I got stuck with half a job and no way to reach the guy.

Milestone payments are smart but how do you even enforce that if they ghost you halfway through? Like whats stopping them from taking the partial payment and bouncing anyway?
