DAE blow a tube sheet weld on a Friday afternoon and have to grind it all out?
Spent 6 hours on a boiler retube in Hamilton last Friday and my root pass on tube 47 came out looking like chewed wire, porosity everywhere. Boss wants it redone by Monday, so what are you guys running for heat on 2 inch tubes to keep the puddle from running away on you?
Tbh "porosity everywhere" on a root usually means your gas got messed up, not your heat. Check your flow meter and your cup, cause if you bumped the regulator or your argon hose has a pinhole you'll chase the puddle all day and never fix it. On 2 inch tubes I run around 90 to 100 amps with a tight land, but the real trick is walking the cup with a fast travel and watching the keyhole, not the puddle. Grinding it out on a Saturday sucks but a cold joint on a boiler is way worse.
