Finally got that old boiler in the St. Louis brewery to pass inspection on the first try

We've been working on this monster for months, a real relic from the 70s. The owner was sweating the deadline because they have a big seasonal brew run starting next week. I spent two full days just on the low-water cutoff and safety valve calibrations, using my old U.S. Gauge tester. When the inspector fired it up and that pressure held steady at 150 psi without a single hiccup, he just nodded and stamped the paperwork. The relief on the owner's face was something else. He actually shook my hand and said, 'You just saved our summer.' It's not always about the big jobs, sometimes it's just making an old piece of equipment run right. Anyone else have a 'simple' maintenance job turn into a major win recently?

Nah, gotta hard disagree here. The inspector probably came in already knowing the place needed to pass since it's a big seasonal run. They don't want to be the guy who shuts down a brewery's summer. @wendy820 nice thought about old tools but let's be real. If that pressure gauge was off by half a psi the inspector would've flunked it anyway. The real win is that the owner had enough cash to keep you on for months. Most places would've scrapped that 70s relic and bought a new unit. You just kicked the can down the road. Next year that boiler is gonna need another full rebuild and they'll be sweating again.

That old U.S. Gauge tester is probably the real hero there.

Old tools just hit different, you know?

Gotta give the tech credit too, @jamie_webb67, but that calibration work is the real win.
