Finally got the hang of that tricky tube sheet layout on the big heat exchanger job
Man, what a week. We've been on this big heat exchanger rebuild at the plant in Gary for a month, and I kept messing up the tube sheet layout. The pattern is tight, and my drill kept walking on the first few holes. My foreman, Mike, pulled me aside on Wednesday and just said, 'Slow down, kid. Let the tool do the work.' I spent that whole afternoon just focusing on my feed pressure and keeping the bit cool. By Friday, I had a whole section done with perfect alignment, and the QC guy just gave a nod and moved on. Felt like a real weight lifted off my shoulders. Anyone else have a simple tip that finally made a complex layout click for them?

Seriously, that sounds like a huge waste of time.

I mean, is it really that big of a deal though? People spend time on way dumber stuff every day, lol. Calling it a huge waste feels a bit dramatic unless you know the full story. Maybe it matters to them for reasons we don't get.

Yeah, people judge way too quick without knowing the backstory.
