Hot take: Started marking with soapstone and my cut lines have never been cleaner.

Totally, I mean I was the same way. I used a sharpie on some tile once and it was a huge mess, just bled everywhere. Switched to soapstone and the line was super thin and clean, wiped off with a damp rag after. It just feels more precise somehow, like you're not fighting the marker.

Never been cleaner" seems like a pretty big claim for some soapstone. It's just a marker. A pencil or a bit of chalk gets the job done too, and you can see those lines just fine when you're actually cutting. It feels like making a tool into some kind of magic trick. The cut is what matters, not the color of the line you draw.

Actually, soapstone wipes right off, unlike pencil or chalk.

Ngl, I've always felt the same about soapstone. Used it once and went right back to my old chalk line.
