Had to pick between the desert hole and the water hole for our club tiebreak
Last Saturday at the member-guest we finished all square and the captain said we could play the bonus hole, which here is either the 19th over the dry wash or the little island green by the pond... I chose the island because my buddy always airmails the dry wash, and I ended up three-putting for the loss. Has anyone else had a bonus hole choice that backfired because you played the wrong end of the course?
Blame your short game, not the hole choice, because the water is supposed to test your nerve and you blinked first. Honestly, the dry wash would've punished you worse if your buddy's rusty with that carry, so you still made the smarter play.
