Our bonus hole flooded before the tiebreaker and the whole club just shrugged
So our club up in Boise put in a bonus hole about 4 years back, tucked behind the 9th green, a tiny 60 yard par 2 they use when two guys tie in the Tuesday league. Last week we finally got a tie, 14 guys standing around, and the thing was under 3 inches of standing water because the sprinkler head next to it broke and nobody noticed for 9 days. The pro shop guy just laughed and said they would use the putting green instead, like that is the same thing at all. I had my wedge out, ready to go, and I ended up chipping onto a practice green with 14 dudes watching me, which is not the vibe the bonus hole is supposed to give you. Here is the part that got me thinking: we spend all this time arguing about flag placement and mowing height on that little hole, and then one busted head kills the whole point of it. I went back the next morning with a hose and drained what I could myself, which took about 40 minutes and one ruined pair of shoes. My question for you folks is, does your bonus hole have its own watering zone or is it tied to a bigger line like ours, because I am starting to think that is the real problem nobody talks about.
