Why I stopped treating the bonus hole like a regular par 3

I used to always grab my 7 iron for the bonus hole at Ridgemont Hills, thinking it was just another short par 3. Then a buddy pointed out that the whole point is different pin placements and weird angles, not standard yardage. I finally tried just using a wedge and aiming for the middle of the green instead of attacking the flag. Has anyone else found a weird trick for a specific bonus hole layout?

Pins are usually tucked on the left side of that green on Saturdays. Aiming for the center with a wedge is smart but you might need to club up if the wind is coming off the ridge.

Wait, you're telling me the pins are ALWAYS tucked left on Saturdays? That's wild. I never noticed that pattern but it makes total sense now. I always figured it was random rotation but that's a detail I can actually use. Man, @logan_mitchell, you just saved me from a bunch of blow-up holes. I've been aiming for the center and still ending up with a long putt. Club up if the wind is off the ridge too. Got it. Gotta write that down in my notes app for next weekend.
