Just realized our club's debate winner is always the loudest reader, not the best one
Last month at the Portland Public Library meeting we argued about whether the narrator in the novel was reliable or just lying. Three people shouted over everyone for 40 minutes and the group voted their side won, but quiet Margaret had the receipts from page 214 that proved the opposite. Has anyone else noticed the debate prize goes to whoever talks the longest instead of whoever brings the actual evidence?
