Put $80 into a fancy book club curated box and got three flimsy pamphlets

I signed up for this premium book club subscription that promised annotated editions and exclusive author notes. Instead I got a thin paperback, some cheap bookmarks, and a QR code to a podcast. Has anyone else tried those curated book boxes and felt totally ripped off?

$80 for pamphlets is rough, but they aren't pamphlets, they're "zines" (supposedly).

lol yeah "zines" with that fat price tag. at that point they're just overpriced booklets with a fancy name to make you feel better about spending $80. call it what you want, still gonna sit on my shelf collecting dust next to all the other "limited edition" stuff i regret buying.
