Serious question, how long does it take to figure out book club voting?
I ran into this problem with my book club where nobody could agree on what to read next. We have 12 members and everyone wants a say, so we tried using a poll system. The thing is, our debate about how to pick books turned into a whole separate argument that took way longer than the actual reading. It took us 6 whole weeks to settle on using ranked choice voting instead of just a simple majority. We had to sort out who gets to nominate books and if we should even have a genre theme each month. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of voting drama in their group?

Right? @sean_green44 "6 weeks" is just how life goes when everyone wants to be in charge of the snacks and the rules.

6 whole weeks to settle on ranked choice voting" is honestly impressive in a way because it shows how passionate your group is, but man that sounds exhausting. I feel like once you finally get that system in place though, it really does cut down on future arguments since everyone's vote actually matters on each round. My group did something similar and now we just throw nominations in a hat and rank them, which saved us from those month long debates about whether we should even have a theme.
