That $50 library fine I paid after my book club missed a return date...

Our group picked up a first edition of The Mothers from the local library system for our June discussion. I was the one who checked it out, forgot it in my car for three weeks. The fine hit $50 and I didn't even love the book that much. Has anyone else had a borrowed book cost them more than buying it would have?
