The e-book vs. paperback fight in my book club got me thinking about the past
Last meeting, we spent an hour arguing over using e-books instead of paperbacks. I remember when our biggest fights were about if a character's choice made sense. Now, it's all about tech stuff and sharing links online. It just feels different, like we lost something. Maybe it's just me, but I think the old way let us focus more on the story. Has anyone else felt this shift in their book clubs? I'd like to hear your thoughts on how debates have changed.

Look at how book club talks always shift with the times. Remember when people argued about hardcovers being too expensive? Tech stuff is just the new version of that, and it does not mean we care less about the story. Maybe we just mix old and new ways now. Debates change, but the love for books stays. Do not make it a bigger deal than it is.

Totally! I heard on a podcast that many book clubs now mix e-books and paper books, and it WORKS. It lets more people join in without worrying about cost or format. So the debate is just noise, and the story is still what matters.

I was such a paper snob until my club tried mixing formats.

Oh man, I used to be that guy who'd side-eye anyone reading an e-book at the coffee shop... now my own tablet is full of them. Guess I'm part of the problem.
