Just saved a book from my own trimming mistake

I was trimming the pages for a new bind. My hand slipped on the cutter. A whole page got a nasty tear right down the middle. I almost tossed the whole thing out. But I took a breath and got some thin tissue paper. I pasted it carefully along the tear. Let it dry flat under a heavy board for a day. Now the tear is fixed and the page feels strong. It's a small win that kept the project alive.

Tossed torn pages before, but your fix changed my mind.

Oh man, I used to just throw books away too. What worked for me was the clear tape, but you gotta sandwich the torn piece between two pieces of wax paper first. Then iron it on low heat, lol, it makes the tape melt into the page just enough. Holds forever and doesn't make that awful crinkle sound.

Morgan's iron method is wild, but it works. @drew_hart4, now you can save those books from the trash.

You ever try that trick with a paperback cover that's coming loose? A tiny bit of glue along the spine, clamp it with binder clips overnight, and it's like new. It's all about getting the materials to bond without making a mess. That wax paper barrier is key for the iron method too, stops any sticky residue from wrecking your iron. Makes you wonder what other household fixes we're sleeping on, right?
