TIL my old way of rounding spines was a total waste of time
I used to hammer them for what felt like forever to get a curve. Now I just use a bone folder on the signatures before sewing, and it takes maybe five minutes. Anyone got a better tool for this step?

What kind of bone folder are you using?

Yeah the material makes a big difference. Plastic ones can leave shiny streaks on dark paper, especially if you press too hard. Real bone or teflon folders are way smoother for that. Also the edge shape matters, a rounded tip is better for creasing without cutting.
