Beware the 'rare orchid' auctions on Facebook, nearly lost $300 last Thursday
A seller in a plant group posted a Dendrobium he claimed was a wild hybrid from Thailand, and the photos looked amazing so I bid against two other people and won. When the box arrived, the roots were wrapped in wet paper towels and the pseudobulbs were squishy, and the ID tag had been obviously swapped from a grocery store phalaenopsis. Has anyone else dealt with these fake rare plant flippers, or did I just get unlucky with this one group?
