Found a neat trick for watering ferns during a week-long trip
Last month before leaving for a conference in Chicago, I poked a tiny hole in a plastic water bottle cap, filled it up, and stuck it upside down in the soil and my Boston fern looked better after 5 days than when I left it.

Try a wine bottle next time it holds way more water and drips slower.
