My greenhouse buddy said I was watering wrong, now my ferns actually survive
Last month my neighbor who grows orchids watched me drench my Boston fern and said 'you're drowning it, roots need air cycles.' I switched to soaking every 5 days instead of daily misting and the fronds stopped browning within 2 weeks. Has anyone else had a simple watering habit change flip their whole plant care game?

Man, I feel like I've been committing plant crimes for years. I used to water my pothos like it was a houseplant version of a drowning victim, daily spritzing and all. Turns out my roots were probably begging for a little breathing room too. Now I just dunk the whole pot in a bucket every week and let it drain, and it's got new leaves popping out like crazy. I guess my watering style was less "green thumb" and more "trying to give CPR to a fish.
