My pressed flower project turned into a seasonal diary.

I now collect flowers from my garden each month to see how it changes over time.

Wait, you get garden flowers every single month? Even in winter? My yard is just mud and dead leaves for like three months straight. What on earth is still blooming for you in January, some kind of magic evergreen rose? That's wild.

Try planting HELLEBORES, @the_kevin, they're tough and flower in January. My neighbor's garden has them and it's NOT magic, just good planning.

Honestly, that "magic evergreen rose" bit cracked me up. My friend Carla had the same winter mud situation until she planted a Christmas rose hellebore. She showed me last January, and it had these cool white flowers poking right up through the snow. Tbh, it looked kinda delicate but she said it's surprisingly tough once it gets going.
