The soil test that changed how I water my monstera
I picked up one of those cheap moisture meters at a nursery in Portland last month, mostly out of boredom. Turns out my monstera was sitting in totally soaked dirt for weeks, I thought I was being careful but the top inch felt dry so I kept watering. The meter showed the bottom was basically a swamp, no wonder the leaves were yellowing. I pulled the whole thing out, swapped in a chunky mix with perlite, and it's already pushing out a new leaf. Anyone else trust their fingers over a tool and regret it, or is it just me?
