Bought a $70 heated birdbath last October and the birds never touched it, but the raccoons loved it
Back in October I saw a heated birdbath on sale for $70 at the hardware store in Boise and figured I'd be the guy with birds all winter. I set it up on the deck, filled it, and waited. For three straight weeks the only thing that showed up was a fat raccoon who treated it like a personal sink, washed his little hands in it every night, and knocked it off the rail twice. The birds finally found it in January, two months after I stopped checking, and now I can't tell if the $70 was wasted or not. Anyone else buy winter stuff for the yard that only the wrong animals used?
