The guy at the parts counter in Reno warned me about the $19 coil pack, and 3 weeks later it died on I-80
I was in Reno picking up a coil pack for my old Ranger and the guy behind the counter just shook his head at the $19 one. He pointed at the box and said that price is the warning label. I got it anyway because I only needed the truck to last a couple months. It ran fine for about three weeks, then it quit on I-80 near the Vista exit and I had to coast onto the shoulder with traffic blowing past me. That cheap part cost me $19, a $140 tow, and a whole Saturday I could've spent fishing. Now I want to know, has anyone here had one of those bargain parts fail on them in a spot way worse than their driveway?
