Am I the only one who argued with a guy in Fort Worth about whether to lay block from the inside or outside corner first

Had a guy on a job in Arlington swear up and down that inside corner first was the only way and he would not let it go. We went back and forth so long his helper just started laying block the other way to shut us up. Funny thing is the wall came out fine either way, but try telling that to two stubborn masons. That guy still brings it up every time I run into him at the supply yard.
