Bought a $200 laser level that was supposed to be waterproof. Dropped it in mud yesterday and it's done.

Start noticing how many products these days claim to be waterproof but really mean a light rain or splash of water. Same thing happened with my buddy's "waterproof" Bluetooth speaker that died after one splash from a pool. Seems like companies slap that label on anything these days without actually testing it in mud or standing water.

Just look for the IPX rating instead of trusting the word waterproof.
