Heads up on checking your hod handles for cracks
I almost got hurt because mine was worn out. Give yours a look before you start carrying bricks.

Oh man, that’s a solid warning! My old handle had a hairline crack right where it meets the carrier, and I didn’t see it until I was halfway across the yard. Felt it give way and dropped the whole load. You really gotta run your fingers along the whole thing, especially the underside and the hook area. Those spots take all the stress. A busted handle isn’t just an annoying break, it’s a total wipeout waiting to happen. Seriously, check yours right now.

Totally feel that, @leo_clark! Those cracks are sneaky. Mine gave out just last week, same spot.

Honestly, all this talk about cracks seems over the top. Those handles are built to take a beating. Most cracks come from misuse, like dropping them or leaving them wet. I've used mine for ages without any problems. Just handle your tools properly and you'll be fine. Constant checking is a waste of good working time.

Built to take a beating' reminds me of my shovel that broke in clay soil last spring. It was fine for years until it just gave out.
