PSA: A passerby spotted an error in my brickwork I had missed

I was setting a decorative pattern on a walkway and a neighbor said something looked crooked. When I stepped back, I saw the line was off by about an inch near the gate. Fixing it right away meant the whole section stayed solid. Now I always pause to let others take a look, even if they don't know the trade.

Feel that awful sinking feeling when someone spots a mistake you poured hours into. Totally get what @sean854 means about the sting, but man, that inch you caught saved the whole walkway. I once had a friend point out a cabinet door hanging crooked after I'd already packed my tools.

Man, that's so true. @mary_hunt67, was it the same kind of thing with your cabinet, like your brain just refused to see it? Ever figure out why that happens?
