Saw some clean brickwork at an old church in Savannah yesterday
I was walking through downtown Savannah and stopped inside this little church from the 1800s. The joints were so crisp and even, I had to take a picture for reference. Have you guys ever spotted old brickwork that made you rethink your own technique?

Old brickwork like that is overrated honestly. All those tight joints and perfect lines look nice but theyre a pain to actually work with later if you need to repoint or add anything new. Modern brickwork gives you more room to adjust and fix mistakes, plus its way more forgiving when the ground shifts over time. Thats a museum piece not a lesson for real building.

Is it really that big of a deal though @daniel_gonzalez? You make it sound like we're talking about building a skyscraper, not just a wall or a chimney.
