Spent $180 on a laser level for a fireplace job in Dayton, wish I'd done it 5 jobs sooner

Kept telling myself a 4 foot spirit level was good enough for chimney breasts until I was laying a split face stone fireplace in Dayton and the courses started walking on me about 3 feet up. Bought a cheap $180 rotary laser off the truck and the very first row I shot came out dead nuts across 12 feet. Took me 9 years of brick to figure out my eye was the problem, not my trowel. Anyone else here still eyeballing or did you all switch over a long time ago?
