Spent $180 on a laser level, kinda regret it honestly
Everyone online swears by the rotary laser setups for footing work, but I grabbed a Huepar at Menards for 180 bucks and my old string line method was just as fast. The laser kept washing out in direct sun on that Johnson job last Tuesday, so I had to double check every course anyway. Maybe I'm just too set in my ways, but who else thinks these gadgets are overhyped for outdoor brickwork?

Keep that thing for indoor work and call the $180 a lesson in trusting your string line. Sunlight's been beating lasers since day one, no gadget's fixing that.
