The old guy on my crew said a brick weighs 4.5 lbs and I laughed in his face
Back in April we were loading out a pallet on a job in Rochester and I made a joke about how light the bricks felt. He said a standard modular brick runs 4.5 lbs and the big ones can push 7 or 8. I bet him lunch he was wrong, so we grabbed the scale out of the truck and weighed ten of them. Average came out at 4.6 lbs, so I paid $14 for his sandwich and he would not stop grinning about it. Now I actually think about that number every time we hump a cube up a scaffold. Does anyone know if the facing brick comes in heavier than the modulars or am I going to lose another lunch bet?
