Can we talk about free spice kits at the library?

I saw my library offering free spice kits last week. It showed me how to cut costs on seasonings. What local spots give out free cooking items?

Free spice kits to cut costs on seasonings? It just seems like such a tiny thing to get excited about. Spices are already pretty cheap at the store, and a little jar lasts a while. I feel like libraries have more important stuff to do than hand out tiny bags of oregano. It's a nice gesture I guess, but it's not solving any real problems. Just go to the dollar store.

Used to think spice kits were a waste too. Then I talked to a neighbor who really struggles with grocery bills. Now I see the point.
