So last week I was in a rush and grabbed a dozen eggs from the corner bodega near my work in downtown Cleveland. Paid $6.50 without thinking. Then I stopped at the regular grocery store on my way home and saw the exact same brand for $4.20. That's a 40% markup just for convenience and I never noticed because I don't usually compare. I started checking a few other staples like milk and bread and the difference was even wilder on smaller packages. Has anyone else price-compared their local corner spots against big stores and found similar gaps? What items do you always refuse to buy outside a supermarket now?
