Found out how much money I was wasting on pre-chopped veggies
I looked at my grocery receipt from the store in Tempe and compared the price of a whole head of celery to the pre-cut sticks. The pre-cut bag was $3.79 for 10 ounces. The whole head was $1.99 and weighed over a pound. I did the math and I was paying almost triple for the convenience. I found this out just by looking at the unit price tags on the shelf. Has anyone else cut a big cost by switching from prepped to whole ingredients?

Yeah, and that's just one item... when you add up all the pre-cut fruit, shredded cheese, and salad kits, the weekly total gets crazy. For me, chopping a week's worth of onions and peppers on Sunday saves a solid twenty bucks, which adds up fast.

Ngl, that pre-cut stuff is such a trap. I started doing the same thing with veggies and it's shocking how much cheaper it is.
