Found out the average family tosses $1,500 of food a year and I felt sick
Read that stat on the USDA site while looking up how long leftovers actually keep, and it hit me because I know half of it is stuff I buy and forget about. What's your go to meal for using up whatever is about to go bad in the fridge?
Watching how much we buy and toss says a lot about how we shop, buying for the fridge we wish we had instead of the one we actually eat from. Fried rice or a big pot of soup is my fix, anything limp goes in and nobody knows the difference.
