I watched a cooking show where they used a whole jar of fancy olives for one meal and it made me think about how people overbuy for single recipes.
I mean, I used to do that too, but now I just get a small can of black olives for like $1.50 and use a few for my pasta, then save the rest for pizza or salad later, which feels way smarter for my wallet. Does anyone else have a go-to cheap ingredient they stretch across a few meals?

Honestly, I'd rather use the good olives and enjoy them fully.

Totally get that. Life's too short for the cheap stuff that tastes like salty rubber. A good olive makes the whole dish better, you know? It's one of those little upgrades that feels like a treat.

Notice how this happens with so many specialty ingredients. You buy a whole bottle of some sauce or spice for one recipe and then it just lives in the fridge forever. Makes me way more careful about trying new dishes now.
