He grabbed a rotisserie chicken, a bag of tortillas, and a jar of salsa and said the whole thing makes quesadillas for 2 dinners. I stood there with my $70 cart of frozen stuff feeling like a clown. Has anyone else switched to the whole chicken plus tortilla thing and actually stuck with it?
Man, I felt this in my soul. We did the exact same switch about a year ago and yeah it sticks if you're smart about it. Get the chicken, pull all the meat off, and save the bones to make broth, that's like two extra meals right there for free. The tortillas keep forever in the fridge and you can do quesadillas, tacos, wraps, whatever. My big tip is grab a bag of shredded cheese and some cheap rice too, that stretches it way further than you'd think. We feed our family of 4 for under $15 now on chicken night and nobody complains. Just don't go crazy on the salsa, that stuff adds up fast.
