My grandma told me to add a can of beans to everything and she was 100% right
She always said beans stretch any meal and cost next to nothing. I finally tried it last month with my chili recipe. Added a can of black beans and got 4 extra servings out of it for like 80 cents. Has anyone else had luck bulking up meals with beans?

Lentils in chili honestly changed the game for me too, way heartier than plain beans somehow.

Started doing this with my ground beef recipes too. A can of lentils mixed into my spaghetti sauce easily doubled the servings and nobody even noticed.

Wait, have you tried using red lentils in chili instead of half the meat? I started doing that a few months back and it actually makes the texture better somehow. Lentils are seriously underrated as a way to stretch stuff without making it feel like you're eating cardboard.

Yo my buddy Dave tried this bean thing recently and it backfired on him hard. He dumped a whole can of kidney beans into his mac and cheese without draining them first and said it turned into this weird pink soupy mess. But after he got over that disaster he started using beans right and now he swears by it. He told me last week he threw chickpeas into his tuna salad and it actually worked way better than he thought it would. So yeah your grandma was onto something, just maybe warn people about the liquid part first.
