My grocery bill for two weeks was only $37 and I'm still shocked

I got really sick of spending so much, so I planned every meal around a big bag of dried beans, a sack of potatoes, and some cheap greens. When I added it all up at the register, the total was way lower than I thought it could be. Has anyone else hit a crazy low number that made you rethink your food budget?

Honestly, that's impressive. I once lived off a giant bag of rice and whatever was on the manager's special rack for a whole month. You start to get real creative with hot sauce.

Damn, I used to think that sounded miserable but @sage_moore37 you're right, it really makes you figure out how to make simple stuff taste good. Hot sauce is a lifesaver for sure lol.

Oh man, the manager's special rack... that brings back memories. Lived on marked-down bread and weird canned beans for weeks. You really do become a hot sauce wizard.

I remember hitting $42 for a full week back in 2018 when I was between jobs and had to make every penny count. The trick nobody talks about is buying whole spices in bulk from ethnic markets instead of those little jars at the grocery store. A bag of cumin that costs two bucks will last you six months and makes beans and potatoes taste completely different. It's not just about eating cheap, it's about not hating every meal. Once you get the hang of it, you start to realize how much of grocery money is just paying for convenience and packaging.
